PLAY ON PEDALS
September 27 2016
To parents/carers of children attending 3-5 areas of the nursery only. Following last year’s success Carolyne and Jennifer will be running the Play on Pedals project over the coming school year. Children will learn about the parts of a bicycle, how to fit a helmet correctly and the basics of looking after their bikes. Through a series of fun and imaginative activities, they will be helped to develop their balance and control skills, using a pedal-less balance bike.
When ready, children will get the opportunity to move onto a pedal bike. All sessions and games are designed to support confidence, interactive learning and the development of physical skills.
Play on Pedals training is a fantastic pre-cursor to the Bikeability Scotland training that is delivered in many primary schools.
Last year a few of our children learned to ride a pedal bike and all of the children who participated learned new skills that they continued to develop at home.
If you would like your child to take part please speak to Carolyne (room11/12) or Jennifer (room 9/10)
