Vision, Values & Aims
We will create a welcoming and positive ethos within a safe and stimulating environment where each individual feels cared for and valued. We will have high expectations, celebrate achievement, value diversity and promote equality in all areas of our work. We will engage with our immediate and wider community in order to create partnerships which will enable us to provide broad and balanced learning experiences for all.
As we are a large establishment we have in place a well organised staffing structure to support the service we provide. All Staff employed by Amcol Scotland Ltd are fully vetted, hold an Enhanced Disclosure and are registered with the Scottish Social Services Council. All staff working with children hold the relevant qualification and are committed to lifelong learning and undertaking new qualifications and challenges. We have a large number of first aiders throughout the building as well as staff trained in Paediatric First Aid, Elementary Food Hygiene, Infant Baby Massage and Forest School Leaders.
Amcol Scotland Ltd is dedicated to providing access to training for its employees both internal / external and strive to meet the requirements of staff‘s individual training needs. We have an extensive training programme in place to develop the staffs knowledge of child development and learning.
Each child is assigned a Key worker who is responsible for ensuring the child is settling into the nursery routine. Staff will also provide a record of your child’s interests and achievements. We encourage parents to speak with their Key worker and read their child’s records on a regular basis.
The staff teams meet weekly to discus plan and evaluate children’s learning to add depth and challenge to their next steps in learning. They are fully supportive in all aspects of children’s progress and development and are committed to working in partnership with parents, carers and other services that support this. We recognise differences of cultures and race, gender roles, and ability and ensure that these do not present a barrier to learning.
